Clients Jen and Pete approached Dependabuild with a clear goal: to transform their recently purchased home in Bilgola Plateau into a space that truly reflected their lifestyle and vision. Through close collaboration, we brought that vision to life with a carefully planned renovation that opened up the home, maximised natural light, and introduced both style and functionality.

The project began with the demolition of internal walls to create a more open-plan living area. Structural steel beams and LVLs were installed to support the new layout. We replaced small, outdated windows with expansive new ones to flood the home with natural light and highlight the stunning coastal outlook.

To maximise kitchen space, an existing bedroom wall was pushed back to make room for a hidden butler’s pantry—seamlessly tucked behind the kitchen and finished with matching custom joinery.

Downstairs, we removed a dated stained timber ceiling and replaced it with fresh gyprock, giving the space a lighter, more modern feel. A timber slat feature wall was added, concealing a secret door that opens to a newly created laundry. The laundry features V-groove panelling and custom joinery, delivering both function and visual appeal.

Upstairs, the existing timber floors were patched, sanded, and re-stained, restoring their natural warmth and tying the interior together beautifully. Standout features include the exceptional kitchen joinery, a custom window bench seat, and a stone-clad fireplace—elements that bring mood and character to the home. The large feature windows not only encapsulate the sea views but also create a light-filled and calming atmosphere throughout.

This project marks Stage One of Jen and Pete’s home transformation. Dependabuild is currently underway with Stage Two, continuing the journey to realise their full vision.
